Overview

testRigor is an emerging competitor to the QA testing industry. They set themselves apart from the competition by leveraging the power of AI. Manual QA testers are able to write automated end-to-end tests in minutes.

My Role

At testRigor I was the sole UI/UX Designer, graphic designer, and at times the sole front-end developer. I was responsible for redesigning their website, creating a visual brand identity, and building their design system from the ground up.

1

Established A Visual Brand Identity

Before redesigning the website I had to create a brand identity to guide my design decisions.

2

Created A Design System

After I established the foundations of a brand I created a design system full of scalable components.

3

Redesigned The testRigor Website

The final step was to put my previous work into practice.

Visual Brand Identity

When I joined testRigor my assignment was to redesign the existing website. The direction given was not to change any of the text as it had been optimized for SEO purposes. I was given a small style guide that consisted of the current logo, typography and a few brand hex color codes.

Value

testRigor is a technology company aiming to disrupt the software QA testing industry. Their tool allows anyone to become a test engineer by empowering the user to create fully autonomous tests simply by writing the steps in plain English.

Typography

R-Flex

Typography is easy to overlook, but choosing the right typography will affect every part of your brand. It’s truly the backbone of brand design. The typography they were using was “Brown.” Brown is a blocky sans-serif font that gives a feeling of structure and rigidity. While this fits with the word “Rigor,” it didn’t work well with product goals. testRigor should be approachable to anyone and makes your automated tests flexible and adaptive, and I wanted the typography to reflect this. After shopping around for a while, I landed on a type called “R-Flex”

Brand Colors

Primary

As a result, it can be an effective choice for brands that want to make a statement and stand out from the competition. Red is often associated with boldness, strength, and confidence, making it an ideal choice for brands that want to portray these qualities. Overall, the value of a red brand color lies in its ability to capture attention, convey strong emotions and values, and make a memorable impression on consumers.

Neutral

Neutral colors can be used to create contrast, making key information or calls to action more visible and easier to read. Neutral colors are typically used for text, dividers, and section backgrounds. Overall, the value of neutral colors in web design lies in their versatility, ability to create balance and contrast, and their ability to convey a sense of professionalism and sophistication.

Secondary

Blue is a versatile and calming color that can evoke feelings of trust, reliability, and professionalism. It's a popular choice for brands in industries such as finance, healthcare, and technology, as it can convey a sense of security and stability.
